Finishing Off
At the end of the interview you will usually be asked if you have any questions. It is a good idea to prepare in advance and to think of questions which are relevant to you and your application. If you feel that the interviewer has genuinely covered all aspect that you wanted to know then tell them this, but ask about the interviewers own experiences in recruitment and what they enjoy about working for the company.
It is acceptable at this stage to ask if the interviewer has anything else that they would like to ask you or any concerns about your application. This is a final opportunity for you to dispel any concerns they may have about you. If you ask the question you have to be prepared to counter the potentially negative answer in a positive manner without appearing defensive.
Don't be too aggressive in the closing stages of the interview - many interviewers like to sit down and have a think about you after the interview and if you press them heavily at this stage for their feedback they may back away. It is important though that you reiterate your interest in the role on offer and emphasise your enthusiasm.
Finally, finish with a big smile and a firm handshake, and thank the interviewer for their time.
Once outside the building wait until you are out of close proximity if you want to smoke or make a call on your mobile phone.
Call your agency as soon as you can after the interview to give them your feedback. They will then be able to pass on your enthusiasm or any reservations you may have at this stage.
